I recently had a voucher for the body shop and wanted to try a few things, I haven’t really bought much in the body shop before as I find it a little expensive for some things. As the voucher was for quite a substantial 50% off I decided to go for it.
I only picked up a few things but Im so glad I did as the things i got have really been making a difference to my skin.
Firstly I will start off with a brush, although this isn’t anything to do with the well being of my skin I got it anyway. It’s the angled eyeliner brush. I really like it and have been using it for my brows, its really dense so is easy to shape my brows, theres not much to say about it but Im glad I bought it all the same.
Next thing is a lip balm or ‘lip care treatment’ I got this because winter is here now and my lips have been suffering. I find this product only feels like its suited at night time as it’s very thick and waxy, it feels like its doing wonders for my lips but isn’t the most attractive/ comfortable product I have ever used. It has an ok scent which doesn’t particularly have a fruity smell or anything and it doesn’t taste like much at all. It’s good in terms of what it says it does for my lips but feels like more of a chore than a beauty product.
Next is a hand cream, I don’t usually go for hand creams but this really appealed to me because of the packaging, I really liked the look of it and it was very cheap with the discount so I bought it. Im really rather disappointed with this product to be honest. The cream its self is ok but it doesn’t really wow me, the cream is quite thick but does sink into my akin quite nicely. the only problem I have with it is the scent. I picked up a rose scent which i thought smelled quite nice in the shop. when i tried it on at home it is ridiculously over powering. I think I would have MUCH preferred the other scents they had to offer like the almond one for example.
Next I bought a tea tree foaming cleanser. I absolutely LOVE this product. I have noticed such a difference in my skin already and have only been using it for about a week or so. It says it’s suitable for blemished skin which I think is definitely true s it makes my skin super soft without breaking it out at all. I feel that its doing great for my spots as it’s cooling in the skin so it feels like it relieves any pain etc. Im not too sure on the tea tree scent at the moment. I can’t work out whether I like it or not but at the moment I don’t really care. I really like that it’s a foaming cleanser so you don’t have to worry about lathering it up as it’s already done for you!
Furthermore I have the matching exfoliator that goes with this range, I like this a lot as it’s not too harsh on my face. I use it around twice a week and my skin always feels soft and very clean afterwards. Again the smell is quite strong but I fell that it is benefiting my skin at the moment so I’m not too worried about how it smells.
Lastly I have an exfoliation pad. I like this a lot because it helps me target areas on my face that need an extra scrub. I do feel that it’s quite harsh on my face and isn’t the most comfortable thing but I think it does the job, it was only cheap but I think I would have preferred the muslin cloth that they have in store and may go and pick that up in the near fututre.
so that’s it for my body shop haul and I hope you enjoyed, what do YOU like from the body shop? let me know in the comments!
